Moms: Put your recipes to work for you! Submit your favorite family recipes
to ChefMom.com and be entered for a chance to win over $1,500 in prizes. Through
October 10, 2000, Chef Mom and Betty Crocker are teaming up to offer a
sweepstakes prize package, which includes a grand prize of a Maytag Accellis™ 2X
Range, with 25 runners-up receiving copies of the latest Betty Crocker Cookbook.
This contest kicks off the debut of ChefMom.com (www.ChefMom.com), an interactive cooking web site
for moms, by moms. Offering meal ideas and food tips to help mothers save
valuable time, the site is free and includes a growing variety of well-organized
recipes and articles.
Chef Mom’s Recipe Box is an online recipe exchange, where visitors can add
recipes to their own personal collections, search by ingredient and print off
their favorites. In addition to an interactive shopping list and how-to guides,
the regular “Ask Chef Mom” column offers advice on topics such as how to get
fussy toddlers to eat and ways expectant moms can prepare meals without feeling
sick.
ChefMom.com is the latest project from Myria Media, Inc., an independent Web
development company owned and operated by two moms, Nancy Price and Betsy
Gartrell-Judd. Says Price, "Whether you love to create in the kitchen, or can't
imagine what you'll make for dinner tonight, Chef Mom has ideas for you.”
If you’re short on menu ideas, want to share the tale of your latest dinner
disaster, or would simply like to meet other family mealmakers, the new
ChefMom.com site is a one-stop source for recipes, cooking ideas and
mom-friendly chat.
Myria Media's other Web properties include Myria, an online magazine for moms
(www.myria.com); ePregnancy, a popular
destination for expectant parents (www.ePregnancy.com); Interactive Parent,
offering parenting information and community (www.InteractiveParent.com); and She
Knows (www.SheKnows.com), a web directory
featuring sites of interest to women.
Two-year-old Myria Media has received favorable attention from site visitors
as well as the press, including NBC’s Home Page, The Wall Street Journal, Town
& Country Magazine and Redbook Magazine, among others. The Myria.com site
has also appeared in Family PC and the Los Angeles Times alongside multi-million
dollar sites such as Women.com, iVillage and Oxygen.com. The two principals of
privately held Myria Media live thousands of miles apart and have never met in
person, conducting business primarily via the Internet.
