In 1991, I graduated from The Ohio State University with a Bachelor of Arts in English. Had you asked me then where I saw myself in ten years, never could I have imagined this destiny! While my background is in marketing, publication design and writing, I enjoy web development and graphic design; co-developing the Myria sites has been a natural extension of my skills and interests. Helping to nurture this enterprise has been a meshing of everything I had learned and loved to do in all the years leading up to it. But never did I realize where the path was taking me.

More importantly, however, my work on this network is a labor of love. Since I have been online, I have been able to take charge of my life in ways I've never dreamed possible. I have been inspired, supported and encouraged by women I have met, and now I am thrilled to have the opportunity to give something back.

My home is in rural south central Ohio, where I live with my husband of ten years and our three daughters on a peaceful and wooded five acres. The basic concept for Myria was conceived soon after my first child, and had been percolating in my mind for about five years. It's been wonderful working with Betsy to create a new, broader-based web world that empowers, educates, enlightens and entertains women who are mothers.

Already a freelance writer - my work has appeared in Parents, Parents Expecting, Baby, the San Francisco Chronicle and elsewhere - I taught myself web design because I loved the creativity it offered. It was also a way to write for a larger audience.

Having been active online since early 1994, I have great admiration for the Internet and "virtual" relationships. (Point in fact: Betsy and I have never met in person, but know each other because we both delivered babies on the same day in March of 1996.)
